Men’s jeans styles loosen up

After the domination of the super skinny styles in the men’s jeans market it seems that styles are starting to get a bit looser.
For the last few years men’s jeans have been dominated by the rock star look with spray on style, super skinny jeans.
But this year jeans styles have got far more comfortable. According to influential fashion newswire WWD the most popular style was straight legged distressed denim.
They are looser around the thigh and hips than super skinny looks and are genuinely more comfortable.
The distressed look is also a key trend where jeans are ripped and slashed and even torn. There are a few models of stone-washed G Star Raw jeans that have been extremely popular lately. This finish is supposed to look worn and battered, and is definitely in style at the moment. Don’t be afraid to go too distressed and battered; the more ripped, the more ravaged, the better with this style. It’s a super casual look that looks great with t-shirts, knitwear and trainers.
Another key trend is rolled up hems; the 1950s look has been huge on the catwalks for women and it is the same for men’s denim trends. The roll up looks perfect with the straight leg trend, which is another key look.
If the distressed style is a bit too much to take, the more traditional look that comes with a pair of straight leg jeans in a dark denim colour will look uber chic and stylish. They can be dressed up or down and can also be a perfect item for the evening.
However, if you don’t want to give up your skinny jeans then the carrot leg could be the answer. According to the Guardian “carrot legs are the new skinny. With a longer rise and a dropped crotch, they’re more flattering but not for those with rugby thighs.”
They still have a bit of a skinny feel to them but unlike spray on style jeans they will suit more body shapes as they are far more flattering.
For the perfect pair of jeans Very.co.uk has a good range of jeans that suit all tastes and styles as well as colours, so whatever happens there will be a pair for you.
